Being the product of a carpenter father and graphic designer-slash-artist mother, Gretchen has a unique blend of both 2-D and 3-D skills. She spent her childhood publishing monthly family newsletters, making artwork out of every medium possible, and building "robots" out of cardboard boxes and old calculator and radio parts. Her college career began at UW-Stout, majoring in Graphic Design for 2 years, where she discovered the field of industrial design and her true passion.
Gretchen lived in Ohio just long enough to become a Buckeye, earning her bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from The Ohio State University in 2003. She has worked at the Scotts Company, Procter & Gamble, Best Buy, and as a principal in a 3-person partnership to name a few. Her wide range of experience includes product design, graphic design, retail fixture design, illustration, and more.
With professional training in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and SolidWorks, she is experienced enough to tackle a variety of projects and knows how to use her skills to make you look good. Her software knowledge coupled with her unique sketching style enable her to achieve a range of loose & casual to tight & realistic concept sketches and renderings.
In between doing design work for others, Gretchen is busy running her other two companies, Paintertainment and Junk Mail Gems, all while raising her son Sam as a full time mommy via her home studio in Bloomington, Minnesota.
